Assault sends police officer to hospital

ALBANY – A fight sends an Albany police officer to the hospital.
Sergeant Melissa Gipson was investigating a report of an assault at Figure 10 on North Pearl Street, early Sunday morning.
When Gipson found the suspect at the Legends on Pearl Bar across the street, police say she was attacked.
The suspect is also accused of sticking her fingers in Gipson's mouth.
Gipson is now being treated for a concussion and mouth infection.
The suspect, 21-year-old Katelyn Lyons, is out on bail.
