Classes to resume Thursday in Mayfield

MAYFIELD - Classes will resume Thursday for students in the Mayfield School District.
The water department has been trying to figure out why the water pressure suddenly dropped to a trickle.
Crews were finally able to track down the problem to a damaged pipe, eight feet under Pump House Road.
With the sandy soil absorbing most of the leak, and the low water table, the leak never showed up on the surface.
Schools were closed this week as crews work to fix the problem.
