SCHENECTADY - An $18 million settlement has been reached between New York State and a food company that provides food for 39 school and public lunch programs, including the Schenectady School District.
Attorney General Eric Schneider man says Compass Group USA has been overcharging its clients for seven years.
The settlement requires the company to repay almost $3 million to the schools for vendor discounts.
The state will get about $15 million from damages and penalties.
