Federal Grant money totaling $14 million will be headed to 30 SUNY Community Colleges to help put the unemployed, back to work.

It will help New Yorkers learn skills for good-paying jobs in emerging, high tech industries.

"This starts in a few months. The money has just been allocated and will be made available. I worked real hard with the SUNY system to prepare the grants so it would be in tip top shape because it's so important to jobs in the capital region and all of upstate," Sen. Charles Schumer said.

Schumer says the jobs are out there, but there aren't enough skilled workers to fill them. He hopes this will help.
