ALBANY - Local law enforcement is calling it the New Crack.
Monday police chiefs and prosecutors gathered to kick off a new campaign against prescription drug use.
According to statistics provided by the group this morning, by senior year one in five kids has abused prescription drugs.
The problem, law enforcement believes, is that pills and medicine are so easily accessible Sometimes all it takes is a trip to a relative's medicine cabinet.
The US Attorney representing the Capital Region announced a partnership with DrugFree.org. That’s the group that brought us the This is Your Brain on Drugs campaign in the 80’s.
DrugFree.org will be using social media as well as advertising to better educate parents, educators and even law enforcement about prescription drug use.
