SCHENECTADY - Schenectady Police say it's a case of animal cruelty.

A woman woke up this morning and found a box outside her home, with 3 abandoned puppies inside

The brother and sister hound mixes puppies are frail, both underweight by at least three pounds at just five weeks old.

They're scared, guarded, and barely moved.

Right now, the puppies don't even know how to eat.

The puppies were found in a box outside a home on Seventh Avenue in Schenectady.

They were likely there all night in the cold temperatures.

The puppies are dehydrated and malnourished, but it doesn't look like they were physically abused.

The neglected hounds are now added to the group of dogs in need of a home at Hernas Veterinary clinic.
