An announcement is expected from the State Capitol Friday about new horse safety measures for NYRA tracks.
An investigation was launched after 20 deaths of race horses at NYRA’s three race tracks earlier this year.
The report comes as Governor Andrew Cuomo prepares to sign a new law that will give him temporary majority control of the NYRA board.
Cuomo has criticized NYRA’s management and wants significant changes.
