Rutland man faces manslaughter charges after hit-and-run

RUTLAND COUNTY - A Rutland County man is facing manslaughter charges after an accident that left a 17-year-old girl dead.

Police say 23-year-old Alex Spanos was huffing chemicals before losing control of his car and crashing into a parked car in a Rutland parking lot.

That parked car hit the girl, killing her.

The man inside the parked car, the girl's father, was taken to the hospital with a head injury.
