Governor Cuomo has signed legislation that will place the New York Racing Association under temporary public control.

The legislation will set up a reorganization board.

Most of its members will be publicly appointed directors.

The governor will then nominate a chair.

Once the reorganization board is in place, the current NYRA board will be dissolved.

The new board will be in effect for 3years and will be charged with restructuring the organization that oversees horse racing in the State.
