A new 11 screen theater will be built in the former Price Chopper building at the corner of Church Street and Railroad Place, and developer announced Tuesday morning that Bow Tie cinemas, the same company that runs Movieland in Schenectady, will operate the theater.

They say they'll "return style to the movie-going experience.”

"No video games. Bow Tie Cinemas has a staunch policy that we have no video games in any of our theaters. We're not a teen hang out, we're a quality movie going venue," says Joe Masher, the C.O.O of Bow Tie Cinemas

The theater will open in late spring and will have a beer and wine café.

Operators say all of the auditoriums will feature stadium seating with over-sized leather seats.
