CLIFTON PARK - The Clifton Park Town Supervisor released his budget proposal for next year... And once again, Clifton Park residents will have no town property tax next year.
There will also be no cuts to programs or services.
The general fund is almost $16,000. Supervisor Phil Barrett says the Clifton Park was able to save money by successfully re-negotiating with the union over health insurance.
He says Clifton Park has been asking town employees to do more with less.
“We've always had a lean government here, but with the downturn in the economy the last few years which precipitated falling revenue for all governments, we needed to stay nimble, we needed to have flexibility and we needed to act quickly to further reduce costs,” says Barrett
There is a proposed 3% increase in the highway tax.
Barrett says they've worked hard to attract investment, and it's paying off with sales tax revenues, and property tax revenues for the school district.
