ALBANY - The Empire Football League begins its playoffs this weekend.

And despite having the best record, the Albany Metro Mallers will not be taking the field.

NewsChannel 13 has learned that most of the team's wins have been vacated.

And the Mallers are no longer in good standing with the league.

That's because a player named CJ Tarver also agreed to play for an indoor football league, and that is a violation of the by-laws of the Empire Football League.

The team's owner says he plans to appeal.
