SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - Police have released the identity of the 43-year-old man who was fatally shot in a Schenectady neighborhood last week.

Authorities tell local media outlets that Charles Bowman of Schenectady was shot multiple times just before 2:30 p.m. Friday in the city's Hamilton Hill neighborhood. He later died at Schenectady's Ellis Hospital.

Police later charged 28-year-old Terell Bethea with second-degree murder. He was arraigned Saturday morning and sent to the county jail without bail. He's scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. It couldn't immediately be determined if Bethea had a lawyer.

Police haven't released information on what led to the shooting.
