Teen arrested after attempted robbery

SCHENECTADY - A Schenectady teen is accused of trying to rob a fellow high school student.

It happened just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Phoenix Avenue and The Plaza.

Police say 16-year-old Jalen McKain and two other boys assaulted the other teen and then tried to steal his iPhone.

One of the other boys was arrested on unrelated charges. The third one was released.

The victim was not hurt.
