Cuomo hires new public relations specialist

ALBANY - A public relations specialist for NBC is joining Gov. Andrew Cuomo's team.

Allison Gollust is taking over for Cuomo's longtime communications director, Richard Bamberger, who's taking a job in the private sector.

Gollust's resume includes serving as sole spokeswoman for anchors like Katie Couric and Matt Lauer.

Cuomo faces re-election in 2014 and supporters say he should run for president in 2016.
