CLIFTON PARK - If you live anywhere near southern Saratoga County, you may want to know about a new place to get medical care in the middle of the night.
The Medical Center of Clifton Park will be open 24-7, every day of the year. Offering care that you'd usually get in a hospital emergency room.
"We can treat anything; broken ankles, ear aches, stroke, chest pains, any of those things, you can bring them here," said John Voight, R.N., director of emergency services.
The 20-million dollar facility has everything you'd find in a hospital emergency room, including magnetic resonance and other advanced imaging.
On the second floor of the doctor's offices, where patients will have routine appointments.
The 38-thousand-square foot facility will employ a team of 60, including doctors, nurses, technicians and administrative staff.
It's operated by Ellis Medicine.
They cut a bandage-decorated ribbon on it Friday afternoon.
Dr. Matt Miles, a Clifton Park native, heads up the emergency care.
"We've been working really hard, getting ready for this big day, honestly now, we just want to take care of patients," said Miles.
Jim Connolly, Ellis's C-E-O, says the center fills a need for Saratoga County residents who need care but don't need a hospital.
A similar new emergent care center is being built ten miles away in Malta, it'll be run by Saratoga Hospital and Albany Med.
Ellis says there are enough patients to go around.
"This is in the middle of Clifton Park with a lot of roadways that run east and west and I think there'll be plenty of volume for both facilities," said Connolly.
The Medical Center of Clifton Park is holding an open house Saturday from 10-2. It will open for good at 12:01 a.m. on Monday.
