Some tour new Vermont sports center

BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Some residents have gotten a chance to tour the new Bennington Sports Center, which opens its doors next month.

The center for soccer and other activities used to be the Catamount Elementary School, which was closed in 2007.

The developer is Bo Vuckovic, a former professional soccer player. He led some tours over the weekend.

The Bennington Banner reports previous ideas for the empty space had included an art or community center. Plans for the sports center moved ahead after the property was bought last November for $325,000.

Signup for winter indoor leagues and camps is currently open.
