LAKE LUZERNE - Most people have no interest in going to the state penitentiary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. But there's no other place Tina Curl would rather be tonight.
"I want to bid him farewell as he rots in hell," said Curl.
Curl, and her husband, Dave, are there to watch her daughter's killer, Donald Moeller, die by lethal injection.
Becky O'Connell was just nine-years-old when she was snatched off a Sioux Falls street by Moeller. Moeller, raped the little girl, slit her throat and threw her lifeless body in a ditch.
He was convicted of the murder, then his conviction was overturned on a technicality before being re-tried and re-convicted.
All the while, Curl waited. For 22 years, she waited to see Moeller brought to justice. And for her that meant execution.
Curl told us earlier this month at her Lake Luzerne home that she wrote Moeller a letter, asking for details of how he killed her daughter.
"Just ask him if he'd be man enough before he rots in hell, to tell me how we got my daughter and if she called for me," she said.
