Japanese automaker Suzuki is pulling the plug on its unprofitable sales business in the United States.

The automaker says it will stop selling automobiles in the U.S. as part of a restructuring plan. It has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company blames slow sales, unfavorable foreign exchange rates and high costs.

Instead of cars, Suzuki plans to focus on selling motorcycles and all terrain vehicles.

The Advantage Suzuki dealership in Albany tells WNYT that it will provide uninterrupted service to customers. It will now begin selling Nissan vehicles under the new name Destination Nissan.
