SARATOGA SPRINGS - Tony Jordan now represents Saratoga Springs and 16 other communities in the state assembly.

The two-term incumbent's district was re-drawn this year and he faced a tough challenge from Round Lake Village Trustee Carrie Woerner.

Woerner won Saratoga County by a slim margin, but Jordan a resident of Jackson, won big in his own county.

He says his door-to-door campaign made the difference. "We probably hit 3,500 to 4-thousand doors ourselves. And that's a good way, especially in re-districting when you have a very large part of your district that's new, for people to meet you and hear what you have to say."

Woerner's campaign spokesman, Mark Luciano, said she called Jordan Wednesday afternoon to congratulate him. Luciano also said that Woerner plans to leave her future prospects open.

For his part, Jordan says his top priority is making New York more business-friendly.
