ALBANY - The Capital Region is once again showing its generosity.
There are a number of local drives to collect food, clothing and basic toiletries.
This morning, workers from one state agency filled a truck with donations.
As workers with the Division of Criminal Justice arrived to work this morning,
Many made a stop at a white truck parked in the middle of the parking lot to drop off bedding, cleaning supplies, clothing, non-perishable food and toiletries.
They all donated after a co-worker, Chuck Tyree, brought up the idea of helping people on Long Island. He’s from Island Park, a hard hit area.
New to DCJS Tyree is overwhelmed with how his co-workers have stepped up.
They may need another truck to fit all the donations they received.
The truck was scheduled to leave at noon for Chuck Tyree's home town to drop off all those supplies
