SARATOGA COUNTY - News of a major manufacturer scouting the area for a place to build a computer chip fab has economic development types hoping to land another big fish.
NewsChannel 13 has confirmed that global consulting firm, Deloitte is checking out Luther Tech Park in Saratoga County on behalf of a client looking to build a multi-billion dollar facility.
Many companies inquire about locating to Luther forest, but according to a source with knowledge of those inquiries, "This one is more substantial and feels more real."
According to published reports, the unidentified chip maker would employ more than 1,000 people.
But one local source cautions that we shouldn't be celebrating just yet because it appears this area is in competition against other areas including California and Texas.
