CLIFTON PARK – Shenendehowa School officials confirm that 17 year old Deanna Rivers and 17 year old Chris Stewart, both seniors, were killed in a car crash on 87N Saturday night. Two others, a Shen junior and a Shaker High student, are being treated for injuries they sustained in the accident.

According to State Police, the two car crash happened around 10:20pm Saturday between the Twin Bridges and Exit 8 Northbound. Police say 22 year old Dennis Drue was changing lanes when he ran into the back of the car driven by Stewart, causing both cars to go off the road. A breath test given at the scene suggested there was alcohol in Drue's system. Official blood work is pending

Grief counselors were available throughout the day Sunday at High School East. School administrators say they will continue to monitor student reaction throughout the coming weeks.

Police say Drue could face criminal charges, including vehicular manslaughter.
