COBLESKILL, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities who are increasingly using the Internet and other technology to fight crime are hoping an old communication medium will give them a break in an old case.

State Police in Schoharie County have posted a billboard off a busy interstate to highlight the investigation of the 1974 killing of a college student.

The billboard on Route 7 near I-88 asks anyone with information about the patrons at a local bar where 17-year-old Kathleen Kolodziej was last seen alive to contact investigators. It offers a $2,500 reward for information about the murder of the SUNY Cobleskill student from Long Island.

Kolodziej went missing on Nov. 2, 1974 and was found dead about a month later after hunters spotted one of her shoes. She had been stabbed to death.
