GUILDERLAND - State police found the woman who gave a trooper a Christmas card with $1,000 in cash.
Trooper Christopher Maniscalco received the card on Dec. 2.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the trooper she wanted to thank him for the work he did.
The trooper gave the money back and she has since donated it to the Stewarts Holiday Match program.
By law, the state police cannot accept gifts of that nature.
