McComsey gets 1 to 3 years for propane blast

FORT EDWARD - Steven McComsey has been sentenced to 1-3 years in prison.

The Fort Edward man is accused of tampering with a propane line before an explosion that killed six people in July 2011.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide, facing six counts of manslaughter.

The explosion destroyed his Salem home, Killing his girlfriend, her son and 2-month-old granddaughter, the baby's father, McComsey's nephew and a woman visitor.

Investigators said a spark from a water pump switch ignited propane that had leaked and accumulated in the cellar.
