A Big Mac and fries may not be your typical Christmas meal, but it could be an option this year.

According to Ad Age Magazine, McDonald’s is urging restaurant owners to open their doors on Christmas Day.

The decision is up to the franchise owners.

In October, McDonalds saw global sales fall for the first time in nine years.

Sales rebounded in November and having restaurants open on Christmas Day could give a boost to monthly sales in December.
