Crash leads to DWI arrest

Colonie Police make one arrest after responding to a two car accident on Troy-Schenectady Road just after 9:00pm Sunday.

Police say 18 year old Zachary Donnelly was traveling west on Old Loudon Road in a 1996 Camaro when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2005 Cavalier, driven by 22 year old David Prince. Prince was treated at Albany Med for injuries to his hip and head.

Donnelly was treated at Albany Med for non life threatening injuries, and charged with DWI. Witnesses say they saw Donnelly speeding just before the crash.

The Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate the crash. They ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has more information to call Colonie Police Traffic Safety at (518) 783-2744.
