TICONDEROGA  - An Essex County company that makes luxury mahogany motorboats is moving its manufacturing operations to a neighboring county after getting a $600,000 state grant.

Executives with the Hacker Boat Co. tell NewsChannel 13 they'll use the funding to move from Ticonderoga on Lake George's northern end to an expanded facility in Queensbury.

The company says the 38 workers currently employed will be offered a chance to transfer to the Queensbury plant that's expected to be built this year. Hacker Boat officials say the company will invest several million and create 50 new jobs at the Queensbury location.

The company also has offices, a showroom and marina at Silver Bay on Lake George.
