Cops hope to ID loot recovered from burglaries

HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have scheduled a property identification viewing in an effort to return some of the vast quantity of loot stolen from homes in a three-county area in eastern New York.

State police say the "overwhelming response" to this week's request for assistance in identifying the recovered property has prompted investigators to hold a property identification viewing at Hudson Falls High School on Wednesday night.

Officials recently announced that John W. Suddard II of Fort Edward was arrested in connection with a five-year burglary spree in Washington, Warren and Saratoga counties. Police say they've recovered some 30,000 stolen items, mostly jewelry, coins and silverware.

Only people with proper identification and an incident verification form of a previously filed police report will be allowed to view the recovered property on display.
