Chatham woman faces several drug charges

A Chatham woman faces drug charges and resisting arrest after a traffic stop on Rte. 66 in Ghent.

When police stopped 19 year old Allison Groupp, Thursday, they say they found heroin, amphetamine, and six hypodermic syringes. Groupp was placed under arrest for driving while ability impaired by drugs, and struggled with the arresting trooper.

Other charges include criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and resisting arrest.

Groupp was sent to Columbia County Jail in lieu of bail and is scheduled to appear in Ghent Town Court on January 7th
