High school teacher charged with unwelcome touching of girl

GLENS FALLS - A high school teacher in Glens Falls is facing a harassment charge after he allegedly  hit a female student on the rear end with a book and asked her to dance for him.

NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Post Star report 47-year-old Kennon Engelmann has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The social studies teacher has been suspended and is now on paid leave.

The paper reports the 17-year-old has also obtained an order of protection against Engelmann.
