RPI Falls to Princeton 2 - 1 on the Road

PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton scored two first period goals and kept the Rensselaer men's hockey team at bay before scoring two empty net goals on its way to a 4-1 win in an ECAC Hockey game at Hobey Baker Rink. Princeton improves to 6-8-4 and 5-4-3 despite registering just four shots on goal after the first period. RPI falls to 6-10-5 and 1-6-3.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by freshman Mike Ambrosia and sophomore defenseman Tom Kroshus.
Ambrosia's goal came at 13:59 with Princeton on the power play.
Kroshus doubled the advantage at 16:03 with an even-strength goal.
Andrew Calof, one of the top point producers in the nation, assisted on both goals.

RPI pulled to within a goal early in the second period when sophomore Ryan Haggerty scored an unassisted power play goal. The goal, Haggerty's team-leading eighth of the season, came just 1:48 into the middle frame.

Andrew Ammon and Calof added empty net goals for the Tigers, who got
24 saves from senior Mike Condon. Senior Bryce Merriam stopped nine shots for RPI, which returns home to host Colgate and Cornell on Friday and Saturday.
