SHARON SPRINGS - A Schoharie County school went into lockdown Wednesday afternoon after an incident at a nearby bank.
Sharon Springs Central School went into lockdown at 12:20 p.m. after being contacted by the Schoharie County Sheriff's Department about an incident at the NBT Bank in Sharon Springs.
The lockdown lasted only 15 minutes, at which point the district says the sheriff's department told them to go into a lockout scenario, meaning after-school activities were canceled.
There will be an after school room available for students who need supervision from 3 – 4 p.m. and a late bus will be available at 4:00 p.m.
The Girls’ and Boys’ Modified Games have also been cancelled.
