An Albany police officer is facing DWI charges after police say he crashed into a row of parked cars in the area of South Main and Bancker Street Sunday morning.

Officials say Max Etienne, a 10 year veteran of the department, was found near the accident scene driving a dark colored SUV with damage to the front end. Etienne was arrested for DWI, and cited for Unsafe Lane Movement and Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.

Police say Etienne was suspended without pay. He is scheduled to appear in Albany City Police Court on Tuesday. The investigation will continue and police say further charges are possible.
