ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A state report says the iconic downtown Albany entertainment venue known as The Egg is getting scrambled by red ink and no-show board members.

The Times Union reports that a review of the concert venue by the Authorities Budget Office finds that The Egg is losing money and is plagued by vacancies and absenteeism on its board of directors.

The newspaper reports that one member of the board of directors hasn't attended a meeting in 10 years and has reportedly moved to Florida. Another has missed the last seven meetings.

The Egg is located on the state-owned Empire State Plaza and is governed by a public benefit corporation.

The state report says the venue should be run by a state agency or operated by a professional venue contractor.
