RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A former nurse has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of diverting pain medications intended for residents at a Vermont nursing home.

Police arrested 51-year-old Dale Kenyon in January after administrators at the Mountain View Center in Rutland said they suspected she was taking morphine checked out for patient use.

Kenyon, of Whitehall, N.Y., was released last week on court-ordered conditions that include staying away from the nursing home.

The Rutland Herald reports police said records show Kenyon administered morphine to patients and that another nurse signed off on the disposal of any excess amounts. But police said the signatures were illegible and didn't match any of the handwriting samples from other staff.
