QUEENSBURY - A longtime Warren County dance instructor who was convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing a student and later had his conviction overturned pleaded guilty Monday afternoon.

Tim McGuire admitted to sexually abusing a student as he pleaded guilty to course of sexual conduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

McGuire’s October 2011 conviction was overturned on technicalities, but he was re-charged and was sentenced Monday to 18 months in jail and 10 years probation.

Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan says McGuire will not be allowed to have contact with students less than 18 years old for the entire 10-year probation term.
