BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man has pleaded not guilty to hosting a party where his 19-year-old friend was drinking alcohol before he died in a crash.

Trevor Murray of Bennington was charged with enabling alcohol consumption by a minor with death resulting.

Police said they responded early Sept. 2 to a call from the 20-year-old Murray reporting a crash involving his friend, Randy Blair Jr.

Blair was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy showed his blood-alcohol content was .11 percent, above the .08 percent legal limit.

The Bennington Banner reports Murray told police he and Blair were at a camp owned by Murray's family. They were celebrating Murray's birthday and were drinking.

Blair left in his truck. Murray heard loud banging and ran to find Blair lying on the ground.
