WHITEHALL – A portion of Main Street has been closed for fear that a partially demolished building could collapse.

NewsChannel 13’s Media Partners at the Post Star are reporting the new owners of the Chase’s Market building had a portion of it demolished.

While no section of the building has fallen, the Washington County Building and Codes Office is attempting to locate the owner to have the demolition completed.

According to Whitehall Police Chief Matt Dickinson, one lane could be re-opened Monday.
