EAST GREENBUSH - A man is behind bars accused of a smash and grab theft at a local tire store.

The 40-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday by East Greenbush police.

Michael Lasher was tracked down after NewsChannel 13 and other stations aired surveillance video of the crime.

Police say Lasher broke into the Grand Premier Tire Store on Columbia Turnpike and stole a tip jar containing several hundred dollars in cash.

He's charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
