ALBANY - New York lawmakers are hoping to have a new budget completed by next Thursday.

If they do, it will be the third year in a row the state budget has been handed in on time.

Friday, there will be a closed door meeting between Governor Andrew Cuomo and legislative leaders to work out details of the $143 billion budget.

It's technically due April 1, but because of breaks, and the Easter holiday - lawmakers are aiming for March 21.
