WILTON, N.Y. (AP) - State police have released the name of the man who was killed in a fire at his Wilton home over the weekend.
Troopers on Monday say they've identified the victim of Saturday night's fire as 62-year-old Emilio J. Jordan Jr., who used a wheelchair because of a medical condition.
Police say the fire was discovered by a home health aide who arrived around 7 p.m. at Jordan's house in the Saratoga County town of Wilton, 35 miles north of Albany.
Troopers say the aide was only able to get a short distance inside the home before being forced out by heavy smoke and intense flames.
Police say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled for later Monday at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
