ALBANY - A Schenectady man has been arraigned on murder charges in the case of a bicyclist who was run down in Albany last year.
Pablo Cruz was arraigned on murder, manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
Prosecutors say he ran over 45-year-old Paul Merges while on the run from police.
Merges became tangled in the roof rack and was trapped for the rest of the chase, which went through Albany and Schenectady counties, at almost 100 miles an hour.
Merges, a father of two, was killed.
