SARATOGA SPRINGS - The Skidmore College student charged this week with grand larceny, is being charged Thursday night with witness tampering.

The Saratoga County District Attorney says Justin Tavarez had illegal contact with a man he's accused of stealing from.

This is the third arrest for Tavarez.

He was charged with a hate crime in 2010 after calling a man the n-word during a fight at Compton's Restaurant.

He was sentenced to a conditional discharge in that case after Skidmore and many of its professors came to his defense.
