GLOVERSVILLE - A Gloversville man is being hailed a hero after he pulled a woman from her burning car in Portland, Oregon.

Mark Cole is a 2003 Gloversville grad.

He was driving a rear steering unit of a tractor trailer when it crashed and rolled over the Marquam Bridge.

The truck dumped a 170 foot, 75-thousand pound steel i-beam, right on top of a Volkswagen car.

Both vehicles then burst into flames.

That's when Cole crawled out of his rig and pulled the driver to safety.

Cole says the woman suffered a cut to her hand, but otherwise seemed ok.

Cole's father told NewsChannel 13 about his son's actions.
