New Saratoga Springs Police Chief sworn-in

SARATOGA SPRINGS – A new police chief was sworn in on Tuesday.

The name should be familiar to many people in the Spa City.

Greg Veitch, had been Assistant Chief since 2011.

Retiring Chief Chris Cole was on hand to congratulate his successor.

Veitch's family is very well known in the city. His brother, Paul, is a Sergeant with the police department and also president of the police union.

The new police chief tells NewsChannel 13 the swearing-in was very emotional for him, surrounded by family and friends.
