ALBANY - The SAFE Act was front and center again Tuesday at the state Capitol.
Groups handed in thousands of petition signatures, calling for the repeal of the gun control law passed earlier this year.
Supporters converged on Albany from all parts of the state to send their message.
State Sen. Kathy Marchione, R- Halfmoon, is one of the most vocal advocates of gun control repeal.
“(Gov. Cuomo) rammed the SAFE Act through the legislature in the middle of the night at breakneck speed without any public hearing or opportunity for citizens to comment,” Marchione told supporters.
Organizers say they gathered about 150,000 petition signatures online for SAFE Act repeal.
After their morning rally they planned to walk the signatures over to the governor's office.
