CAPITAL REGION - Two river searches going on in northern parts of the Capital Region have been suspended. The heavy rains have caused treacherous currents, and both searches have been called off for now due to unsafe conditions.

Richard Kelley, 39 of Whitehall was swept under while swimming with family on the Mettawee River in Granville on Saturday.

The search is also suspended right now in Lake Luzerne, for a father of three, who went over Rockwell Falls on Sunday.

The Franklin County man was riding on inflatable rafts with two other people who chose to get out of the water before the falls, and is presumed dead.
