SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. (AP) - Police have taken a 22-year-old Albany-area man into custody after his stepfather was found bludgeoned to death and his mother was found severely beaten.
Police responding to a call for a violent domestic situation in Schaghticoke at about 8 p.m. Thursday found the body of 62-year-old Michael Matala in the front yard and Cynthia Matala severely beaten in the home. She was rushed to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.
