1 dead, 1 hurt in Schaghticoke attack; cops grab son

Anthony Repp, 22, is accused of bludgeoning his stepfather to death and beating his mother.

SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. (AP) - Police have taken a 22-year-old Albany-area man into custody after his stepfather was found bludgeoned to death and his mother was found severely beaten.
    
Police responding to a call for a violent domestic situation in Schaghticoke at about 8 p.m. Thursday found the body of 62-year-old Michael Matala in the front yard and Cynthia Matala severely beaten in the home. She was rushed to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.
    
Police searched overnight for Anthony Repp, who was at the home at the time of the incident. He was taken into custody before 7 a.m. Friday about 60 miles away in Deerfield, Mass. Police say Repp hopped a freight train.
